I'm back again!

I've now been back in Chesterfield since Monday. It's nice to be back and have my friends so close, but at the same time it feels like I'm just on a holiday.

I'm hoping the holiday feeling will go away when I get a job and a place to live. At the moment I'm staying with my friend Joe, his place is very small and it's outside of town but the bus stops right outside his flat so its easy to get in to town. We actually went for a walk yesterday morning and we're planning on going for one this morning as well, it is a nice place for walking, it's almost like you're in the middle of the country side in some places, only downside of that is that portions of our walk doesn't have side walks.

I went looking at a house on Tuesday, I was actually supposed to look at a flat in the same street, I didn't realize they had a house there as well, so when the letting company gave me the keys to go and have a look at the place I didn't realize I had gotten the wrong keys until I saw the house, and then I realized that the price the lady at the letting company had told me was higher that it was supposed to be as well. I decided to just have a look at the house anyway though, and; WOW! I fell in love with it! It's an old house, 3 bedrooms, two living rooms and plenty of storage. Joe had come with me to look at it and he quite liked it as well. The price was higher that what I would pay but since Joe's tiny flat is quite expensive I asked if he wanted to be house mates, the house would be almost half of what Joe's rent is now and it's close enough to his work that he won't have to pay for bus or taxi.

I had made arrangements to look at another house on Wednesday so I went to look at that as well. The house would have been big enough and cheap enough for just me, there was two bedrooms though, but it had a fairly large garden, which is nice but it's something that I would have to look after and spend money on. So after viewing it I went and saw Joe at work and asked if he was sure he wanted to shared the first house with me, which he was, so I went and got an application and at the same time paid the fee that means no one else gets to look at it. At least the house is big enough that Joe and I can still get some time apart from each other if we want it. We can have a living room each!

Since it's Easter we won't get an answer about the credit check and whether we get the house or not until next week, but fingers crossed!! I loved it so I'm hoping we'll get it. Although I really wanted to have a house or flat to myself it will be nice to share as the rent and bills will all be cut in half, and since it's three bedroom I can still have friends and family over!

I might also have a job interview lined up. My friend Nicky told me about a job becoming available next week at a grocery store near her, her sister works there and is doing the interviews so she'll get me an application. At least it's a type of job I've got experience with so I might have a chance of getting it.

I'm really glad I decided to go back to Chesterfield; when you've got friends nearby it makes it much easier to start from scratch.

Disney's All Star Movies Resort

While I was in Disney World I stayed at the All Star Movies Resort.

The All Stars Resorts are usually the cheapest hotels that's connected to Disney World, there is Movies, Music and Sports and they're all next to each other. When I took the bus to and from the parks and Downtown Disney my bus only stopped at those hotels, which was nice because it meant the bus ride was a lot shorter than what it could have been.

There are 10 buildings at the Movies resort, they are paired up and decorated in 5 different styles; Toy Story, Fantasia, Love Bug, 101 Dalmatians and Mighty Ducks. I liked the big statues outside the buildings, and I bet it's fun for the kids as well. And there is loads of cool picture opportunities.

I stayed in one of the 101 Dalmatians buildings. They must use the same room whether there is one person staying there or 4 because I got a room with two double beds, which is fine, it means I got a big room.

One thing that annoyed me was all the towels. I know the room was for four people but I'm sure the housekeeping staff had a list of how many people were in each room. When I checked in there was at least 4 of each type of towels plus some decorated on the bed, fair enough. I put most of them in a pile to the side in the bathroom so I had more space to dry the few I was actually using. Every day the pile on the side got bigger because they kept putting new towels in the spots I had removed them from! Not necessary is it!?! They didn't hang the pile back up they left the pile there and hung new ones up, I think I probably had 10 of each type of towel in my room at some point! Utterly ridiculous! And I bet that when I checked out they washed every single one of those towels, not very environmental friendly. Seriously, if there is only one person staying, leave only one of each type of towel in the room, if that person need more they can always take it from the Mickey on the bed, or just call down to reception for more.

Food was not included at the hotel, but they have a food court, so getting food was not a problem. The pizza is pretty much what I lived on, it was really tasty! They also had a plastic cup you could buy and then fill up with soda as many times as you wanted during your stay, you could only use it at the hotel and if you wanted water you had to either pay a fortune for a bottle or drink the not so tasty tap water. I think that the water that was in the soda dispenser could have at least been filtered or something so it tasted a little better than plain tap water.

Besides the towel issue it was a nice place to stay. I wish there had been some grocery stores within walking distance, or in Downtown Disney, but apparently you're not supposed to eat healthy when you're in Disney World!

It's a Zoo out there!

My last full day in Disney World and the weather was terrible! Well, I've had worse of course, but when you have to be outside with a camera bag and poncho instead of being able to snuggle up inside with a good book and a hot cup of cocoa it's seems a lot worse than it is. But I am glad I spent the day at Animal Kingdom instead of one of the other parks.

Personally I don't really think there was all that much to see in Animal Kingdom, which is why it was nice to spend the rainy day there instead of one of the parks with loads to see.

There were a lot of character meeting spots, and since the weather was so bad there were less people and I didn't have to stand in line for ages.

I took the poncho off for the pictures, but my fringe makes me look like a drowned cat in some of them.
One of the things I did in the park, besides meeting characters, was the Kilimanjaro Safari. It was fun to see all the African animals, and at least the animals there have a lot more space to roam about than the animals in the enclosures in the rest of the park.

The people that were sitting next to me on the safari bus, however, were not nice. They seemed quite snobby. When the safari started the tour guide did say that we would only be stopping for about 5 seconds for each animal and not at all for some, so to have out cameras out and ready. The people next to me, a couple and a young boy (10ish I'm guessing) kept shouting "wait" and "stop" to the guide, especially the mother. The guide ignored them though, thankfully. If you actually do what those people want you to do then they'll just get even worse!

Luckily there were some indoor activities, like the Finding Nemo musical, which was quite amusing.

I walked around the whole park but still left quite early, I didn't even catch the Jammin' Jungle Parade at 3.45pm. I wish the weather had been better as I would have probably at least stayed for the parade, but at the same time I don't feel like I missed much, I just didn't find this park as fun as the other ones. I know part of it was because of the weather, which just made me miserable, and part of it was because I was ready to relax for a day after all the sightseeing I'd done the last two weeks, but I think that even if I go back in the future I doubt I'll spend a whole day at Animal Kingdom.

I bought a really cool t-shirt at Animal Kingdom, I'd been trying to find one so I would have something to wear on my way home since I didn't have any clean tops left, and I finally found something I was happy with.

Let the Magic begin!

My third full day in Orlando I went to Magic Kingdom, the park I'm sure a lot of people thinks about as the main Disney park. The park is HUGE!

Magic Kingdom was busy from the start, however, as soon as the park opened almost everyone headed straight for the castle to take pictures in front of it and to walk through it, one of the first things I saw when I stopped in front of the castle to take a picture was someone proposing, and I know it happened at least twice more during the day. Instead of walking through the castle I turned left after Main Street and walked through Adventureland, so I did get a few minutes of calmness before the storm. In Adventureland I went on the Jungle Cruise and the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The guide on the Jungle cruise was really punny, he had quite a few groan inducing puns but it added to the laughs. The Pirates of the Caribbean ride was much better than the one they had at Disney's Hollywood Studios as it was actually a ride.

I continued around the park in a clockwise direction which led me to Frontierland. Unfortunately Splash Mountain was closed for renovations, I used to love that kind of rides when I was younger. Instead I went on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and I quite enjoyed it! I think it's one of the first times I've enjoyed a roller coaster! I think part of the reason I enjoyed it was because there weren't any big drops, this roller coaster focused more on sharp turns.

In Liberty Square I found the Haunted Mansion, the kind of thing I though Tower of Terror might have been before I went on it. Not really scary at all just fun. If you do go to the Haunted Mansion you can chose two paths to get inside the house (unless you use the Fast Pass), one is just straight ahead and one is slightly longer and goes through the cemetery. I would definitely recommend the one through the cemetery, especially if you have kids, gives them, and you, something to look at and do while waiting.

Fantasyland is the biggest part of the park with the most rides and things to see. Be prepared to get a song stuck in your head for a few hours if you go on "it's a small world", it's worth it though, it's a really nice boat ride around the globe. I also got on the Walt Disney World Railroad in Fantasyland, it stops at Mainstreet and Frontierland but I just took it all the way around to rest my feet for a few minutes.

When I had wandered around Fantasyland for a while I went to Tomorrowland, I did think about going on Space Mountain but I was worried about feeling too sick when going on it, especially since it was in the dark, I do kind of regret not going on it but at the same time I'm not sure I would have gone on it even if I did get another chance. I need to toughen up! One of the things I did do while in Tomorrowland however was to go to the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. I actually went twice, it was that good! The characters from the film is on a big screen in front of you, but it is live, and they single out a few people from the audience for their jokes. I could have gone back there a hundred times it was that funny! Another ride I went on in Tomorrowland was Stitch's Great Escape!, it was in a round room and we got those safety things over our shoulders so I was really worried once I sat down that the room was going to spin, luckily it didn't they used the shoulder things for something else. I think I would go back on that ride if I go back as I would relax a bit more getting on it if I knew the seat wouldn't spin around.

Apparently, and disappointingly, I only took this one picture in Tomorrowland!
Of course they had parades in Magic Kingdom as well. First there was the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party which was a lot of fun, and I loved the glass palace they finished it with.

They also have a flag retreat at 5pm, I've known Americans make a big deal out of their flag and it was fun to see it with my own eyes.

The next parade was the Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade. I though they would just walk past like they do in most parades but they stopped in front of the castle and you could dance along with the characters, made me wish I wasn't carrying around a big camera, makes it tricky to just jump around.

While I was waiting for what would happen once it got darker I was just wandering around the park, had a look in the shops on Main Street and met some characters at the Town Square Theater. At one point I randomly walked past the castle and I saw loads of people starting to sit down in front of it, I looked at the time and it was more than two hours until the next parade. But, wanting a good spot, I sat down to wait as well. I sat next to two Canadians and so luckily time passed a little quicker when I had someone to talk to. And of course once it started getting dark it was nice looking at the castle which was all lit up. I'm glad I sat down early though as it quickly got crowded and there was nowhere for people to walk.

Once the Electrical Parade started people was standing up to take pictures, the employees had said over the speakers to turn the flash off the cameras but a lot of people kept it on, which I think is ridiculous; if you're taking pictures of lights in the dark they will turn out a lot better if you turn the flash off, if not the flash will usually drown out the lights you're trying to take a picture of. Rant over. The Parade was great though, it was so beautiful! I loved the colours and floats and everything.

When the parade was over there was maybe a five minute wait before Wishes. This is a light and colour show on the castle. I'm glad I had found a spot right in front of it.

Pretty much straight after Wishes, Celebrate the Magic started, Fireworks!! The fireworks were great as well, everything was great! They even had Tinkerbell flying away from the castle (real person as far as I could tell), I had wondered what the long wire was for.

From what I can remember Wishes and Celebrate the Magic was on again later in the night as well, but a lot of people did like me and left after the earlier ones, which meant it took a long time getting out of the park. I think maybe it would have been a good idea to just go to a different part of the park, maybe go on a ride and then try to exit the park.

In all Magic Kingdom was absolutely amazing! I would love to have had more days there, but like the other parks I did feel like I got to see everything I really wanted to.

Lights, Disney, Action!

Sunday March 10th I went to Disney's Hollywood Studios. As with Epcot I arrived when the park opened and so I did get to walk around without too many people for a few minutes but the park did fill up quickly.

One of my favourite "rides" was the Studio Backlot Tour. We got to see how explosions and other special effects in movies are made which was really interesting. The first part of the tour was in front of a water tank where we got to see explosions and "bullets" hitting the water, and after that we went around and saw some props from movies and some more special effects. I would definitely recommend that for anyone that goes to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

They have also made fake New York and San Francisco skylines in the park, which was really cool to see. They look quite real from a distance but it's all just big painted walls and fake store fronts.

Another ride I really enjoyed was Star Tours, it's a Star Wars ride in 3D with motion simulation.

I also went to see Voyage of the Little Mermaid. A live show showing highlights from the movie. Most of it was okay, but unfortunately the girl that played Ariel couldn't hit an important high note and her singing went downhill from that point. I felt sorry for her but at the same time she shouldn't have gotten that job if she couldn't hit the notes.

I even went on the Tower of Terror! I should have paid more attention to what it was, I'm sure Nicky told me when she came back from Orlando, but for some reason I thought it was just your regular haunted house thing.... No!!! It''s one of those rides that goes slowly up and then fast down and then kind of bounces.... Not my kind of ride. I'm glad I hadn't eaten yet when I went on it, but I still thought it was horrible. Part of that feeling I think was because the seatbelt was just a regular one strap across your hips, I didn't feel very safe, I think I would have felt safer if I had been properly securely fastened with a big safety harness with straps over my shoulders and everything. As it was I could feel myself being lifted off the seat a couple of centimetres on the drops. I don't understand how people can take those rides over and over again! I had been thinking about being brave and going on the Rock'n'Roller Coaster after the Tower of Terror but I had enough of feeling nauseated that day.

Disney's Hollywood Studios has a parade every day called Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! And it was fun to watch it, I had a big smile on my face the whole time.

I really liked Disney's Hollywood Studios, I would love to go back there as I didn't go on every single one of the rides but if I go back I want to go with someone. It's a nice park to just walk around in, they even have this group of people just wandering/driving around the park in costume all day doing random things like competitions and pretend radio dating shows.

Around the world in one day

Saturday March 9th I went to Epcot. As I always wake up early I was there before they opened and the lines were quite short, I also got to move to an even shorter line once I found out that because my hotel room key was my ticket I could go to a different entrance.

Epcot is divided into two parts, Future World and World Showcase, World Showcase opens about two hours after Future World so there is plenty of time to check out all the rides in Future World before having a wander around the Showcase. There was also a flower festival at Epcot while I was there so there was lots of characters made out of topiary everywhere. It's impressive to see what some people are able to make.

There were quite a few rides in Future World and they were all good, some of my favourites were: Spaceship Earth, the Chevrolet Test Track - which was also a little scary as it went quite fast and had some sudden stops, Journey into imagination with Figment, Mission Space - I really liked that you could choose two different intensities on this ride, and Captain EO - a really old 3D movie and it was really silly but also a little fun. I also wish I had gone on "Soaring" but the lines were so long and I didn't even think of getting a Fast Pass.

For those of you that doesn't know what the Epcot World Showcase is - it's a Showcase of different countries around the world. Each country has their own little area and you can buy food and merchandise from that country and the buildings are made in the countries own style and the people that work there are from the respective countries and their uniform is a kind of national costume of their country. A few of the countries has rides or movies but not all of them.

Once the World Showcase opened I went in a clockwise direction. When walking that way Mexico is the first country. They have a little boat tour showing the sights of Mexico which also stars the three Caballeros.

The next stop is Norway. I have to say they did a good job with the buildings -  making them look Norwegian. Norway also had a ride, Maelstrom, I didn't like the commentator on the ride, just because the Norwegian accent was so thick, but some Norwegians does talk that way when speaking English and I guess it's fun for people that are not Norwegian, wouldn't feel very Norwegian with a thick American or British accent.

After Norway there is China, Germany and Italy before America had their own little area. Then came Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom and Canada. It was really fun to walk around and see everyone's area, with the buildings and everything.

Most countries looked the way I know them to look or the way I imagined them to look, except for Canada, which has a big focus on native Canadians and lumber. I also saw the 360 circle vision film in Canada. It was interesting but since you had to stand the whole time it was very tiring, and I don't really get why it was 360, I couldn't be bothered to turn around after a couple of minutes and it would have been just as good  if it was just a big widescreen or something.

I read on a website that Epcot was bigger than Magic Kingdom and that you need more than a day to get around it, maybe you do with kids, but I actually left long before it was closing. I did want to see the fireworks in the evening but I had gotten sunburnt and needed to relax so I went back to the hotel. I did feel like I had seen everything I really wanted to see though.

It's coming...

The rest of my posts about Disney World are coming, things are just a little crazy right now. When I got back from America I only spent one day with my dad before going up to Trondheim to visit a friend and tomorrow I am going down to see my mum. I will try to post the rest of the America posts before next Sunday. I can't believe it's only a week until I move back to the UK!

The Silver Linings Playbook

The Silver Linings Playbook
By: Matthew Quick

Outer back cover: Meet Pat. Pat has a theory: his life is a movie produced by God. And his God-given mission is to become physically fit and emotionally literate, whereupon God will ensure a happy ending for him - the return of his estranged wife, Nikki. (It might not come as a surprise to learn that Pat has spent time in a mental health facility.) The problem is, Pat's now home, and everything feels off. No one will talk to him about Nikki; his beloved Philadelphia Eagles keep losing; he's being pursued by the deeply odd Tiffany; his new therapist seems to recommend adultery as a form of therapy. Plus, he's being haunted by Kenny G!

When I saw the trailer for this movie I really wanted to watch it, I didn't even know it was based on a book. I still haven't gotten around to watch the film, but when I saw the book at JFK airport I just had to buy it!

I love the way you get into Pat's head, see the way he thinks and feels about people, it's really funny, even if his thoughts seem really childlike at times. Pat also seems really aware of other peoples feeling, he always looks for the silver lining and he's just really lovable.

There is A LOT about American football in the book which wasn't interesting to me, especially as I had no idea what they were talking about, the only thing that was interesting about the football was how Pat's father's personality changed depending on how his team did in the games.

One thing I don't like about the book is that it retells the plots of classic books, like The Bell Jar, The Great Gatsby and more. I know they are old books, but I almost feel like this book should come with a spoiler warning about those books, not everyone has read them just because they're old. However it also made me want to read them even more.

In all I enjoyed the book.

Downtown Disney

When Anne and I woke up on Friday snow had settled on the ground in New York so we were careful when driving. Anne was kind enough to drive me to the airport for my flight down to Orlando, it was really sad to say goodbye, but at the same time I was glad to finally be going to the heat and sunshine, I just wish Anne could have come with me.

After I got settled in at my hotel I headed to Downtown Disney, I just wandered around window shopping and looking for a birthday gift for my dad's wife, which I finally managed to find.

I liked all the different stores they had, although I think it's a bit annoying that they don't have a normal grocery store so you can buy some proper food. You have to either bring your own or live on junk food while you're there. I guess it's easier if you have your own car though, that way you can just drive to a grocery store. Anne had offered to give me the rest of the food we had in New York, but I didn't take it as I figured they must have some proper food.... Nope!

Since it was late by the time I arrived I didn't spend too long in Downtown Disney. It was mostly just souvenir stores and restaurants there and I guess it's the only place to go out for a few drinks in the evening if you want to do that. They have an all year Christmas store there that kind of made me wish I had gone closer to Christmas so I could do some shopping there.

Broadway Hotel & Hostel

With a name like Broadway I though it would be pricey, but that is where Anne and I stayed while we explored New York and Washington DC and it was quite cheap.

Broadway Hotel & Hostel is located really close to Central park, as well as a subway station, so it was nice and easy to get places. Anne said that they advertise free parking on their page, but you basically just have to be lucky enough to find an available spot outside, they don't have anything reserved for their guests or anything.

On their web page, and when we arrived, they said that the WiFi is only available in the hotel lobby, we were lucky though and got a room on the second floor right above the lobby so we managed to connect from out room.

We had to go out into the hallway to use the bathroom as it was a shared one, but it was a proper bathroom, not those stalls you get in most hostels, and there seemed to be several down the hallway so we didn't get loads of people knocking on the door trying to get in while we were in there. They could have gotten some pegs and maybe a shelf to put stuff on in the bathroom though, as it was I had to put everything on the toilet seat while I was having a shower. I also think the shower was on a timer as the water would go cold after a while. Good think I don't spend a long time in the shower anyway.

The room was quite cold, it felt like the window was open even when it was closed, luckily the beds had nice thick duvets as well as blankets so I didn't wake up at night because I was cold.

There was a sink and mirror in the room, but because of the placement you couldn't really get enough light to use the mirror to put make-up on or anything.

Lunch at the White House

Anne had rented a car for our trip to New York, on Thursday we took the car and went to Washington DC for the day. It was actually beginning to snow in New York when we left in the morning, luckily in DC it was a nice and clear sky. Parking in DC however proved difficult. All the street parking and meters that we saw had a 2 hour limit, in the end we had to park in a parking garage. It was actually really strange, we drove down the ramp to the garage when the attendant there made a gesture, we stopped the car so we could ask him what he wanted but then he just turned around and continued talking on the phone. As we were in the garage searching for a sport to park the attendant came down and started telling Anne off because she had driven down.... Excuse me, but he should have made another gesture telling us to wait once he had our attention on the ramp earlier. Luckily it turned out fine though, he parked the car for us (why I don't know), and we could explore DC.

As we headed towards Washington Monument we walked past an art gallery, a WWI memorial and I also got a good picture of the White House from a distance. I'm glad I managed to get the picture of the White House as it turned out later that we couldn't go up close to it, maybe Anne and I just came from the wrong side, or maybe there was something happening but there were barriers up and police telling us to turn around so we couldn't get any closer.

Washington Monument was closed, they are still repairing it from the Earthquake in 2011, I think they're almost done though as the scaffolding was only at the bottom now. I don't think I would have gone up it even if it was possible though, not after the Bunker Hill monument

From Washington Monument we headed down to Lincoln Memorial. I like that all the monuments are so close in DC. Lincoln Memorial was really cool, on the side of the wall inside is the Gettysburg Address, I've only ever heard the line "Fourscore and seven years ago..." so it was kind of cool to be able to read the whole thing, not that I'll remember any of it mind you. Of course the Lincoln statue is the coolest thing in the memorial, another thing I have only ever seen on TV and wanted to see with my own eyes.

Anne and I headed back towards the Washington Monument and had a look at the WWII memorial. I like all the stars on the wall, I think it said on a sign that there's over 4000!

This is when we tried to get close to the White House but since that failed we headed towards the Smithsonian instead. The Smithsonian is divided into several buildings/museums, we went to the Natural History one. On the way there we walked past a van selling cupcakes, I just had to try a red velvet one as I've not tried red velvet before. It was nice, but I prefer chocolate.

The Natural History Museum was really good. There was so many interesting things there, definitely worth a visit if you're ever in DC! I first heard about the Smithsonian on the TV series "Bones" and have wanted to see it since. I really wanted to find the building that they feature the exterior of on the TV series sometimes, but since I had no idea which building that is I just gave up.

I had a great day in DC and got to see everything I really wanted to. It's kind of cool because whenever I've seen DC on TV it's usually just the monuments and the White House I've never seen the city itself, so it was really cool to see that it was just a normal city like anywhere else.

Have you been to DC? What did you do and see there?

Some famous sights and a Broadway show!

Anne and I started Wednesday with a harbour cruise. We thought we would be there in plenty of time but once we got off the Subway we noticed that the park was closed so we couldn't go straight through it they way it said on our instructions. As for the rest of the instructions: "Terminal is located behind so-and-so castle"... - we are both tourists! How are we supposed to know what so-and-so castle looks like or where it is? It didn't say anything about it on the map I had. We did find the terminal in the end though, we were cutting it close so we ran the last hundred meters or so, which is fine, we probably needed the little run after all the holiday food.

The cruise was good. The weather wasn't so good though, it was really cold, I wish I had brought my fleece jacket with me from Norway. I wanted to just sit inside the boat as it was nice and warm there, but to see as much as possible and to get the best pictures, I had to stand outside. On the cruise we saw the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island (unfortunately both were closed), Brooklyn Bridge and of course we also got a wonderful view of New York City.

We needed to warm up after the harbour cruise so we went inside the National Museum of the American Indian. There was so much to see there, beautiful clothes and art. After we had warmed up in the museum we headed over to the Empire State building. Some guy outside it, wearing an orange jumper tried to trick us into buying tickets for over $40, luckily Anne knew that we only had to pay $25 to get up, the over $40 was to get to an ever higher floor (102nd), but we were both happy with the lookout on the 86th floor. I bet the view is great on a clear day, but I though the view was pretty great even though it was cloudy.

You can even see the statue of liberty if you look closely!
The next, and last, stop before heading to Broadway was Flat iron building, it was really cool to see it with my own eyes, I've seen it a lot on pictures and TV but it's a whole other thing to stand in front of it and see it yourself!

Before heading to Broadway we went back to the hotel and got prettied up, then we took the Subway to Times Square to hunt down a place to have dinner before our show. We ended up at a place right across the Majestic called Jekyll and Hyde, both Anne and I had never heard of it before but I wish we had! If we had know what it was all about we would have gotten there earlier to enjoy it more! It was so funny, it was kind of a show in  a scary Gothic setting, it was just loads of fun really! I will have to go there again if I go back to New York!

The show we went to see at the Majestic, after a rather stressed dinner, was Phantom of the Opera. I saw the movie several years ago and remember I loved it, and I love the music from it. The show was absolutely amazing! We got cheap tickets so we were sat in the back, which was fine, the only annoying thing about it was the people sat in front of me, they kept moving and blocking my view. It would be nice to treat myself to better seats if I go again, but they are SO expensive!

All in all a very successful visit to NYC. It was short but I got to see everything I really wanted to see, it would have been nice to have a day extra to do some window shopping and actual shopping but at least this way we saved money. I shouldn't be shopping too much anyway since I have to pack even more for when I move back to the UK!

Have you been to a Broadway Show? Which one and what did you think?
