Haircut and animals

Sorry about the lack of posts this week guys!

On Wednesday I had an extra day off. It was The Boy's first birthday so The Mother took the day off work, meaning I got the day off. So I went to a shopping centre nearby(ish) for some retail therapy. It's one of Australia's biggest shopping centres and I've only been there twice before but never had a proper look around. Chermside it's called. Anyway.

I had a nice day, I had a proper bra-fitting for the first time in my life, got a couple of new clothes, a Christmas present, a new diary and a haircut. I've not gotten my hair cut in ages! My hair is really thick, and it had gotten quite long, so it was rather heavy. I always regret it when I have a hair cut though so I told them I still wanted it below my shoulders. When I told the hairdresser how "short" I wanted it she asked if I was sure... I wasn't, but it's only hair right, it grows back out again, so I got her to cut it. And also thin it out a bit. I'm seriously not kidding when I say my hair is think, hairdressers (and other people) always comment on it.

When I was finished I looked at the floor. LOADS of hair! But I just thought it was because my hair was so thick. Then I got The Mother to take a picture of it when I got home. I had also taken a picture the same morning because I was planning to get a haircut in the near future. It was quite a bit shorter, I don't think I had quite realized how long my hair had actually gotten!
And no, I did not dye it, it's just the different light or something..

While I don't regret my haircut this time (must be because it's still below shoulder length), I still want to grow it long again. But this time I will get it trimmed and thinned out regularly so that it's lighter and healthier.

I went to see The Paramedic again yesterday.... Hmmmm... I'm going to TRY no to invest too much emotion in that, not get too emotionally involved, not yet anyway, I'll have to see how it goes first. I'll give him a few more chances, he's difficult to read.

Today we went to Australia Zoo again. Last time we went we got some tickets with free entry until Christmas so we went today to see the new Africa part of the zoo.
It was okay. The cheetahs were being checked up by the vet or something so we didn't get to see them, and the only other animals they had were the zebras, rhinoceroses and giraffes. It was still cool to see those animals of course, but I think I expected more the way they had been going on about it.

Only thing missing from this picture is a baboon holding a lion cub...
After we saw the Africa part we had a little wander through the "regular" part of the zoo.

At one point while we were walking through the zoo there was a lizard following me! I think lizards are really cool, but I have to say this one freaked me out a little bit. At first it would run towards me when I had my back turned and freeze as soon as I looked at it. But then it just didn't care anymore and came straight towards us. Turned out it was chasing another, smaller, lizard though.
After we had walked around Australia Zoo for a while we went to Melaney for lunch. Very cute little place, reminded me a little bit of Kuranda, it had the same hippey-y feel about it.

After Melaney we went to Gerrard Lookout. Very beautiful view.

So that's pretty much what's happened this week, other than work. Hope you all have an amazing week next week!

What have I done now?!

I went out to meet The Paramedic from last nights post tonight. He sent me a text earlier today asking if I wanted to meet him and his friends at a bar in town. I spent about an hour trying to decide whether I should or not. Just because I've got work in the morning. I have to get up at 6! And I was at a wine tasting earlier today, should be enough alcohol for one weekend!

In the end I decided to go.

I had to look up the bar on the map first as I had no idea where I was going. I found it and I managed to get there, even with the Sunday trains. I'm just glad I was getting off at Roma street because the train didn't go any further tonight because of some work on the lines or whatever.

So I got to the pub and his two best mates are there, as well as his housemate from last night and also his sister! I did have to tell myself to breathe for the first few minutes. They were all nice people though, the housemate didn't seem as jealous as she had yesterday, which was good of course.

The Paramedic also told me he liked me, so at least I won't have to wonder about that. (woho!!) We have also kind of planned to go out on Sunday, which will then be our first totally sober meeting, so that should be interesting.

We were having a nice night, just chatting, drinking, dancing and whatever, then suddenly someone stole his sunglasses! His $500 sunglasses! Which of course upset him. He was trying to see if he could find them for a while, but could't see them anywhere.

Anyway, I had to leave a little bit after that, I didn't want to stay up to late and The Father was picking me up so I didn't want to leave him waiting. The Paramedic and his friends were leaving as well and they were getting a lift from his sister back to his house and were planning to continue drinking, they invited me but I just wanted to get home and get some sleep (yeah, I should be sleeping now but I'm not tired enough).

After The Paramedic and I said goodbye to each other outside the pub, one of his mates came running after me and asked what happened. I told him nothing happened I just had to catch the train, so then he said that I should get The Paramedic to go on the train with me, because we were going the same way anyway. So I walked over to him and told him what his friend suggested and we walked to the train station together.

And BOY am I glad he came on the train with me!!!!

Getting to the train station was an effort in itself.... I was just going to go the same way I came, since that way I knew where I was going, but The Paramedic said there was an easier route. Since he's from Brisbane I trusted him..... It took us about twice as long to get there. He got lost!

We finally got on the train and I was going to call The Father and tell him, so that he would know when to pick me up. Only problem was: my battery was flat! And I don't know the number by heart! The Paramedic lent me his phone so I could go on Facebook and write The Father a message, as he didn't have his number saved on Facebook either. I didn't get a reply.

It was a quiet train ride home, The Paramedic was upset about his sunglasses and I was trying to figure out how to get home. The Paramedic offered to let me stay at his place for the night and then he would drive me home in the morning, but I didn't feel comfortable not coming home without telling The Mother and The Father. If I was the one waiting I would be worried sick!!!

In the end The Paramedic called a taxi for me that would be at my stop when I got there.

As you're reading this, obviously I got home. But whatever forces are out there did not want us to have a good night tonight, so I'm just kind of wondering what I have done to upset them!

My first "adult party"

I went to my first sex-party tonight.

Before I went I thought it was well out of  my comfort zone, it's not really the kind of thing I would go
to. It was actually quite fun though. I don't think it would have been as fun had I been sober. I also met some new people.

I bought two bottles of wine yesterday, The Mother and I had half a bottle last night (one glass each that is), I had the other half of that bottle before we went to the party tonight. The other bottle I brought with me and drank while we were there.

A few of us stayed late as well. The Husband of the lady throwing it came back with the kids (none of them were allowed in the house while the party was going). And after the kids had gone to bed and I had finished my wine they brought out the  tequila. I've never had tequila before so I thought I'd give it a shot. I only filled up half a shot glass, but as it had stood in their cupboard for a while it was probably quite strong. I didn't have any salt or lemon. And it tasted horrible! I even had a sip of The Mother's Jim Bean just to get the taste out of my mouth!
But yeah, the party was fun, and I wouldn't mind going to one again, which I wouldn't have thought before I went tonight.

Have a nice Saturday night/Sunday morning everyone!

The guy...

The 30th party that we went to this evening was okay, we're home fairly early: 11.30pm... Mostly because these women kept grabbing the mike on karaoke and they could not sing, at all! And it was jut plain torture listening to them!

I met the guy I was talking about in my last post, he seemed like a nice guy. REALLY shy though, hard to strike up a conversation, even when we were standing alone for a bit he didn't really talk to me.... I understand shy, I'm quite shy too, but sometimes it's just too much hard work to make some talk, and that's just not fun. And I guess when you're shy you need a person that's not shy, two shy people doesn't go we..

This girl came over to me about half an hour before we left saying the guy really liked me and kept talking about me and that I should go over to him and say hi. This other guy wanted me to go over to him and grab his balls... I'm sorry mate, I need a few more drinks to do that! But yeah, he seemed like a nice guy, we didn't get to talk much, but maybe we'll meet again, apparently he doesn't live far away as he got a lift from the neighbours that was trying to hook us up in my last post.

Well, I'm drunk and tired, so I think I'll go to bed now. Good night all, hope you've had a nice Saturday night, or is going to have one. Next week I'm going to my first "Sex party", so that'll be interesting.... Update: Sex-toy-party!!!
